    The main objectives of WP1 are:
    Definition of representative case studies and preliminary numerical analyses for Engineering Demand Parameters (EDP) and Damage Measures (DM) estimation.
    Selection of I-girder subassemblies and preliminary numerical analyses for EDP and DM estimation at deck level.
    Definition of proper testing setup and protocols for I-girder subassemblies tests

  • WP2 - Tests on scaled I-girder subassembly specimens

    WP leader: UNIVERSITY OF TRENTO

    The main objectives of WP2 are:
    The experimental evaluation of the transverse capacity of intermediate concrete crossbeams in I-girder subassemblies.
    The experimental evaluation of the longitudinal capacity of intermediate concrete crossbeams in I-girder subassemblies.
    The investigation of the residual capacity after an earthquake of a damaged intermediate concrete crossbeam subject to traffic loads.

  • WP3 - Numerical simulations and damage analysis of I-girder subassemblies

    WP leader: UNIVERSITY OF AACHEN

    The main objectives of WP3 are:
    Refined modelling of the subsystems defined and preliminary investigated in WP 1.
    Identification of information demand to be provided by tests; general definition of experimental data to be measured.
    FE model validations of tested I-girder subassemblies including the consideration of scaling effects.
    Estimation of EDP-DM relationships for I-girder subassemblies to be used in Task 4.4 of WP4

  • WP4 - Application of the PBEE methodology to selected Case Studies

    WP leader: UNIVERSITY OF ROMA TRE

    The main objectives of WP4 are:
    To develop reliable probabilistic models of seismic hazard, demand analysis, damage and performance, in order to relate the seismic input to the cost-benefit analysis of the proposed Case Studies.
    To apply the proposed PBEE methodology to selected Case Studies.
    To provide useful tools for the decision making phase.

  • WP5 - Issuing of design guidelines and recommendations for improving European seismic code for bridges

    WP leader: SETRA

    The main objectives of WP5 are:
    Contribution to the foundation of a new generation of European seismic codes for bridges
    Issuing of design guidelines and recommendations useful to enhance Eurocodes Dissemination of project results.
